The sumptuous, three dimensional artwork of Chloë Nugent is the result of months of experimentation. Each unique piece goes through numerous stages to reach its status as an opulent, high gloss image, beautiful to look at and irresistibly tactile. Chloë’s new work is based around deeply personal symbolism, and explores the importance of family, the security of home and the precious feelings of being loved and being in love. It brings together a series of enchanting allegories, using some classic elements from storytelling, from forests and wildlife to houses and balloons, Several of the images concentrate on hearts and homes. Chloë explains: “Each house with a heart represents a family member and the love that they share. I often place a group of houses together on a hill, traditionally a safe place, and surround them with a picket fence. For me this represents keeping the family safe and secure.” With the Twilight Trees series, Chloë has recreated that magical time just as the night begins – the ARTIST FEATURE CHLOË NUGENT perfect setting for every fairy tale. Against a delicate shimmering background and the soft dreamy glow of moonlight through the branches, owls, squirrels and lovebirds play beneath a night sky illuminated by stars.
