N E W R E L E A S E N E W F R O M E N V I R O N M E N T A L H E R O Tony Forrest has long been regarded as one of the finest wildlife artists of his generation. Journeying from the plains of the Serengeti to the Okavango Delta, he has dedicated his life to painting some of the most rare and endangered species on the planet. Often working ‘en plein air’, out on location, Tony has observed many species in the wild, from tigers in India to mountain gorillas in Central Africa, and, of course, in numerous wildlife parks. While his paintings feature an extraordinary level of detail and accuracy, it is overall visual impact that Tony believes to be the key element – looking at one of his paintings should not, he says, be an intellectual pursuit, but rather should bring the viewer face to face with the realities of the natural world. Tony has been painting in the wild for over 30 years. He has raised thousands of pounds for charities including the Born Free Foundation, ‘Africat’ in Namibia and the Tusk Trust. He has exhibited in many of the most prestigious galleries in the UK and the USA including the influential Safari Club International Wildlife Convention in Reno, Nevada USA.
