F A B I A N A N D T H E G O V E R N A T O R … Fabian has been a big fan of Arnold Schwarzenegger for many years, both for his career as a consummate entertainer and as Governor of California; so when he set out to paint a series of ‘Living Legends’ the great man was high on his list! When Arnie saw the portrait, he called Fabian immediately to congratulate him, and it turned out that the admiration Fabian felt for him was mutual. Fabian’s wife Lucy was greatly amused as Fabian rarely answers calls, but on this occasion he simply happened to pick up and found himself face-to-face with the Terminator on a video call! He invited the whole family over to his house and they had a wonderful day. The children loved it and had plenty of photos taken with one of the biggest movie stars of all time, but for Fabian and Lucy the most amazing thing was to discover that Arnie is a keen art collector and his home is filled with amazing artworks, including of course Fabian’s portrait. He was a charming host, amusing and interesting, and asked many questions. He was fascinated by Fabian’s personal story and they talked at length about art, inspiration and galleries. A memorable day all round. “Arnold Schwarzenegger is an inspiration and a great example of a strong mind and determination.
